PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The programme covers the Civil Engineering (Construction) disciplines of building structures, structural elements, designing of reinforced concrete, steel construction and technology applied in contemporary construction methods. Modern construction industry requires civil engineers with extensive understanding of basic civil engineering core in order to achieve the project objectives within all constraints.  Moreover, the local industry is in demand for those engineers who have acquired specialist technical knowledge and practical skills with a professional qualification. The program aims to develop the Construction industry by educating students to perform competently in the dynamic environment and especially to focus on higher productivity, buildability, safety and sustainable issues. The core curriculum focuses on the designing and execution of the Construction (Civil) Engineering process and roles of the civil engineers. The main topic range covers from the Basic Engineering modules to the RC & Steel Construction, Structural Analysis and Construction Technology.  Upon completion of this programme, the students are equipped with the Engineering knowledge in the field of civil and construction especially designing, planning and construction. Eligible to work for Contractors, Consultant or Management level and manage the site effectively and efficiently.Ready to solve and make decisions for the technical issues that arises in the Construction Site.

HIGHER DIPLOMA IN FACILITIES MANAGEMENT AND M&E ENGINEERING SERVICES

 PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The Higher Diploma in Facilities Management and M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Engineering services programme will equip students with Electrical & Mechanical Engineering technical knowledge and Facilities Management function skills to develop their opportunities in the built environment industry especially in the M&E services for buildings, competent in performing electrical works, M&E equipment like Air-conditioner, Lift, lighting, plumbing and so on, energy management and set up effective maintenance programme &procedures. The Facilities management professionals are emerging rapidly to support facilities and development as the foundation of strategic management in order to improve the contemporary business process. The graduates will able to manage building facilities effectively in the dynamic environment and develop the skills to coordinate the facilities planning, designing and managing building systems and energy efficiency that contribute to business success. The programme will also cover a wide range of topics on designing the M&E system for the buildings, Building Management System (BMS), maintenance of M&E system, electrical installation, monitoring & conducting energy audits and optimal energy usage for the building as one of the requirementsof the BCA green mark assessment for buildings.
